Smoking Ban

Next month smoking in cars that are carrying children is going to become a major problem with legislation being passed to make this an offence. Offenders that go against the change to the law could be fined between £60 – £80 or receive 5 points on their driving license, depending on whether the case goes to court.

Drivers who fail to prevent passengers smoking in cars with children will be fined up to an astonishing £10,000. The law is expected to be passed in December and will be enforced by October next year.

Second smoke can cause a wide range of problems for children such as asthma, respiratory problems and even can increase the chances of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). There are plenty of reasons there before being fined £10,000 to stop people smoking in cars when children are present.
