Blair Witch Tanked, The Director Joked About It

You must ask yourself, what would happen if every time a director failed, they joked about it? Instead of Zack Snyder defending BvS he should’ve laughed about it, admitted it was a piece of garbage and promised us more next time, instead of defending what was an awfully edited CGI fest.
Well, Blair Witch director Adam Wingard seems be taking negative reviews in stride; he shared banter with Simon Barrett too, the film’s writer.
Well, our horror film may have been a disappointment at the box office this weekend, but at least we got overwhelmingly negative reviews.

To clarify, I'm hugely proud of our film. But if you can't be sardonically maudlin on Twitter, I'm totally unclear what this site is for

This would be a reference to Clint Eastwood’s film ‘Sully’ which opened at No.1 at box office last week, and stayed there with $22 million.
Adam then continued by saying:

And then, quite rightly, he said:

I have mass respect for the two creators. They made something that didn’t do so well, but are standing by it instead of lashing back at fans who maybe didn’t connect with it. It takes a lot of guts to have a laugh, I believe, when something you worked on gets dashed by critics.
Kudos guys. You tried.
