4 Celebrities Who Drive Cheap Cars

Following on from David Cameron’s decidedly odd purchase of a second-hand Nissan Micra this weekend, we’ve decided to take a look at some of the world’s most famous figures who drive not-so-famous cars.
Leonardo DiCaprio
A committed environmentalist, Leonardo stores two electric-powered (one is a hybrid), all-singing, all-dancing sports cars in his garage, but it’s his understated Toyota Prius we’re interested in. Normally the preserve of those pesky tree-hugging yuppies, the Toyota Prius costs a reasonable £25,000 – spare change to someone worth about $220 million dollars. Still, fair play to Leonardo – it’s refreshing to see such humility in A-list celebrities, and if you can save a few trees while you’re at then why not?
Jennifer Lawrence
Taking up residence in the A-lister promised land of Beverly Hills, California, the 25-year-old actor doesn’t like to flaunt her wealth too much, at least not as far as her car is concerned. She drives a Volkswagen Eos, which, although production ended last year, would have set her back around $35,000 dollars (about £24,000).
Daniel Radcliffe
You mean he doesn’t drive a Flying Ford Anglia? What a liberty! Citing similar reasons to Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Radcliffe wanted a small-engined, low-emission vehicle and so went for a Fiat Punto, costing in the region of a mere £12,000.
Pope Francis
The people’s pontiff.
Pope Francis has been seen roaming around in a number of modest, reasonably-priced cars since becoming pope. The Pope has opted not to be cooked in a huge bulletproof glass box like his predecessors, but rather use a humble Ford Focus as his Popemobile of choice. Simpler still, he uses a 1984 Renault 4, given to him by an Italian priest, to travel around the Vatican. He’s even been known to get the bus, notably when he was a cardinal in Argentina.
