Need some magic in your life? Well, your wishes could soon be granted. In a new Durham Cathedral exhibition, you could view a ‘unicorn’s horn’ or a ‘griffin’s claw’. What are you waiting for?

Part of Beasts!, Durham Cathedral’s Open Treasure Project, is certainly not something to miss. Telling the stories from our mythical past, and using ‘evidence’ that many believed proved the existence of such magical beasts, the project is both a wonder and a great history lesson.

‘Evidence’ of such creatures was found all over England in particularly religious areas, including the shrine of St Cuthbert at Durham Cathedral. Though, it’s not all from our local history – medieval manuscripts and early printed books will also be on show, as well as a display on the first Harry Potter film.

Plus, it’s cheap to visit, at only £2.50-£7.50 per ticket.

But don’t worry, you have plenty time; the exhibition only opened yesterday, and runs until June 10.

Let us know what you think!
