(Think of this as a pre-review).

It might have slipped under the radar for a number of us, but make no mistake: Darksiders is definitely worth the remaster. The first game came out in 2010, to rather positive critical reviews. It blended all aspects of old school dungeon crawlers that games like Zelda had maybe lost in more recent years.

You play as War, Rider of the Apocalypse, who was called forth to bring the ever raging battle of Heaven and Hell to Earth. From here you slay demons, angels, and bosses galore. The game is great, and it’s wonderful to see it getting a remaster, much like its prodigy, Darksiders 2 did, along with the Deathinitive Edition (which is an awful title by the way).

For those who already own the original Darksiders, the remaster should come as a free update when loading up Steam on PC.

The game is well-deserving of a remaster, as the visual style and the art assets used are simply gorgeous. I mean, it’s drenched in clichéd masculinity but it feels so good.

Be quick and you can grab both remasters for £8.99 down from £44.99!
