Not So Fergalicious

Performing the national anthem is a pretty big deal. Completely botching it up in front of millions of people and a stadium full of football fans is also a big deal. Sorry, Fergie.

We aren’t ones for gossip or trash talking, but who thought it was a good idea to get Fergie, the lady who made this monstrosity of a song, to sing the national anthem.

Her audience was less than satisfied, given that members of it even started giggling at her attempt. When the NBA game’s broadcaster, TNT, cut to the halftime show the panel was still chuckling about it.

Chance the Rapper and Jimmy Kimmel, who were in the audience, were caught having a chuckle too. Safe to say she probably won’t be asked by the NBA again to perform. In contrast, Pink’s performance earlier in the month at the Super Bowl sounded far better.

And she had flu.

The move to get Fergie in was to bring more viewers in with a celebrity appearance. But other than that ghastly song we mentioned above she really hasn’t done all that much. Perhaps next time, bring one of the more entertaining Black-Eyed Peas out. will.i.am can’t sing but he’d put on a show at least.
