Some may find the images in this article uncomfortable, for this we apologise.

A gunman has killed 50 people in Las Vegas, during an open-air music festival. The man has been named as 64-year-old Nevada resident Stephen Paddock. He opened fire on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, toward a music festival which was being held across the road and being attended by 22,000 people.

This will be the US’s most deadly shooting in recent history, with a further 406 people injured. Witnesses who were in the area described seeing muzzle flashes from one of the upper floors of the hotel and heard what sounded like sustained automatic fire.

No motivation has been found for why Paddock decided to do such a horrible thing, but police found him dead in his room after they uncovered 10 rifles. We can rule one thing out however, he was white, so there’s likely zero chance they’ll try to blame it on Muslims.

This news comes in as another shooting took place in Kansas, where three people were killed and two were injured.

But yeah, America totally doesn’t have a gun problem or anything.

Civilians have been helping carry wounded on stretchers and trying to be as generally useful as they can be.

Just to be clear. Any use of the phrase ‘lone-wolf’ to describe this man is utter nonsense. The thought of someone picking a populated spot to murder people from a hotel window is in no way ‘lone-wolf’ esc. It’s sick, it’s awful and damn insulting to the people who died.

Lone-wolf my b**p.

We’ll update as the story goes on.
