‘Racist’ Hoodie Banned by eBay

After a hoodie depicting a black boy as a ‘monkey’ was criticized by celebrities, H&M have removed the item from their stocks, and eBay has even banned the item.
It has also taken down some listings for the item after some were apparently put up for sale. H&M has apologised for the backlash, which was branded by many as racist. The jumper showed a small black boy in a green hoodie with the phrase ‘coolest monkey in the jungle’ printed on it.
eBay has banned the item and will ‘continue to remove items listed maliciously.’
One listing was accordingly going for £1,400, the Metro reports.
Celebrities including The Weeknd and G-Eazy condemned the company, with G-Eazy actually ending his partnership with the clothing company.
The Weeknd said it made him feel ‘shocked and embarrassed’.
Some celebrities even drew up their own versions of the hoodie.

The child model’s mother, however, told people to ‘stop crying wolf’.
‘I respect other people’s opinion on the issue. I know racism exists, but does the shirt to me speak racism? No, it doesn’t.’
