In the AMAs, the band Linkin Park won the favourite artists in the alternative rock category last night. Band member Mike Sinoda said the award was for their late band member’s ‘memory, his talent, his sense of humour, to his joy’.
Chester Bennington was found dead at his home in California in July. A coroner said he had hanged himself.

The band recently announced they would be releasing an album in December which would feature live recordings from their One More Light tour.
Among the other winners was Bruno Mars, who walked away with seven awards, being nominated for eight, along with Justin Bieber, who won the best collab for Despacito.

Performances in the night included Linkin Park, Shawn Mendes and Demi Lovato.
Linkin Park’s benefit concert for their late band member was last month, featuring some huge names in rock and metal. All proceeds from tickets would go to a fund set up in Chester’s name.
I’m glad they won something, even if it was just to highlight the terrible year they must have had. It’s touching to see Chester’s friends still care and continue their work in his name.
