Jess Glynne now shares the record with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini for the most number one singles, after her latest single ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ has reached number one. ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ is the artist’s fifth number one single.

Jess said she was close to tears. “I’m very emotional today. I can’t tell you how much it all means to me; this song is quite a special one for me. It comes from somewhere deep and it’s one of those songs that helped me get through what I have been going through this summer. Everyone goes through hard times. Stuff happens in people’s lives that aren’t so great. I guess it was a bit of therapy for myself.”

Cheryl has held the record from November 2014. Rita Ora and Geri Haliwell are only one away with four.

Jess released her debut album I Cry When I Laugh on 21 August 2015 through Atlantic Record. The album includes her five number one singles, ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’, ‘Rather Be,’ ‘My Love,’ and ‘Not Letting Go’.

The Beatles hold the record for the most number ones from a British band with 17 number ones whilst Sir Cliff Richards holds the record for the British male solo artist with 14 number ones.
