Hello fellow travel-seekers!
It’s that time again, so happy Wanderlust Wednesday! I hope my last post on the amazing Whitsunday Islands got you all daydreaming of tropical islands, golden beaches and deep blue oceans…
However, this week’s Wanderlust Wednesday is going to take a slightly different turn, away from traditional beautiful islands hidden in far away places. In the spirit of Monday night’s 58th Grammy awards, I decided it would be fitting to turn my wanderlusting eye to something of a musical nature. And so of course I immediately thought of everyone’s favourite summertime musical escape… music festivals! Here are the top three music festivals I’m currently daydreaming about going to someday:
The mother of all music festivals – and, of course, number one on my list – is this star-studded classic music festival which takes place every year in California. Not only do celebrities themselves pull on their denim shorts and Hunters wellies to attend the festival, some of the world’s most amazing acts hit the stages every year. (Word on the street is that there might even be an NWA reunion performance, eek!) A quick Instagram search of Coachella is enough to get me daydreaming about hitting California and riding that iconic Ferris wheel…
Located in hip and happening Croatia, Hideout festival is the place to be this summer! With the hottest DJs of the moment playing every year, such as Skepta, Hannah Wants and Gorgon City, Hideout is the perfect choice for house, electronic and dance music lovers, as well as chilled out vibes, boat parties and shisha pipes! It’s the perfect summer escape with tickets being cheaper and far less exclusive than Coachella. What are you waiting for ?!
3. Benicassim (FIB)
Benicassim is yet another festival waiting to be ticked off my bucket list! Every year, this huge international music festival is held in Barcelona, yet another lush location in which to soak up the sun whilst partying the nights (and days) away to the hottest artists of the year. This year’s all-star lineup includes Disclosure, Muse, Major Lazor, Kendrick Lamar and many, many more. Move over Glastonbury, for just 150 euros for a four day ticket and the added bonus of Spanish sunshine, Benicassim is definitely making its way to the top of my list!
