Championship League Updates

It’s been a few months since Newcastle United were relegated by rival team Sunderland FC and were moved into the Championship League from the Premier League.

Under new management from Rafael Benítez who is the former Liverpool manager, NUFC seems to be turning things around and they’re actually doing really well in the Championship. At the moment, they’re placed second in the league table, only one point behind Norwich who are in first place.

Of course, a team like Newcastle that has spent so long in the Premier League should be doing well in the next League down.

In their most recent game on the 15th of October, they beat Brentford 3-1 and before that, they won against Rotherham 1-0. Back in September, they even beat the Queens Park Rangers 6-0. The way things are going, Newcastle may be in with a chance of taking their spot in the Premier back from Sunderland, who are currently positioned in last place. SAFC haven’t won any of their last 10 games, whereas Newcastle have won the majority.

If Newcastle manage to get to the top of the Championship League table, in 2017 they could claim their spot back in the Premier and maybe even be the ones to relegate SAFC.
