Deadpool 2 Gets a New Writer

After a few months of saying um and ah, we finally have some concrete information that Deadpool 2 has some new writers on board.

It has been reported that Cloverfield and Daredevil writer Drew Goddard has joined the movie.

Coming from Collider, he has joined the other writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, as a consultant, to help hone the focus of the screenplay as the movie slowly chugs into full production. Goddard, obviously, has a ton of experience handling sci-fi and fantasy, as he worked on the early episodes of Daredevil, and even Lost.

His script for The Martian starring Matt Damon was nominated for an Oscar in 2016, so it seems to be in good hands.

Deadpool 2 is set to be directed by John Wick director David Leitch, who replaced Tim Miller. The movie isn’t confirmed for an official release yet, but Fox currently has two slots for unnamed X-Men movies in 2018 and 2019.

One is very likely to be Deadpool 2 and the other to be New Mutants.

A lot to look forward to.
