Look, it sounded better in my head.

After an abysmal time at the box office, the Divergent series could apparently be heading for its TV debut.

But perhaps not?

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Shailene Woodley, who plays Beatrice, spoke about how she felt about Lionsgate’s decision to move the franchise onto TV.

“Last I heard they were trying to make it into a television show. I didn’t sign up to be in a television show,” she said. “Out of respect to the studio and everyone involved, they may have changed their mind and may be doing something different. But I’m not necessarily interested in doing a television show.”

These comments follow those made by her her co-star, Miles Teller, who told THR: “I honestly haven’t talked to anybody. It caught us all by surprise.”

Allegient’s box office debut left much to be desired, bringing in a meagre $29.1 million, which was more than a 40% drop from its predecessors. The film went on to make $179.1 million, with a budget of $110 million. But this isn’t including marketing.

It would appear people’s interest in dystopian futures has dwindled.

Finally.
