Juno and X-Men star Ellen Page has finally wed her partner Emma Portner, sharing the news through Instagram with a series of photographs.

The post showed two hands, both with wedding rings, touching at the fingertips. The caption reads:

‘Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife.’

Page came out in 2014, when she addressed a conference on teenage homosexuality, which was hosted by the Human Rights Campaign. It lobbies for the rights of those in same-sex relationships. She spoke to the crowd about her realisation and discovery of self, stating:

‘I am here today because I am gay,’

With those words she was given a standing ovation, then continued, trembling:

‘I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered, and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here with all of you on the other side of that pain.’

Ellen Page starred alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Inception also, which remains one of my favourite films to this day. Plus she’s as bewildered as the rest of us and its great.

The Canadian actress has starred in some pretty decent movies. She was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Juno in 2008. She starred in Christopher Nolan’s Inception alongside Leonardo DiCaprio also.

Emma Portner manages and directs her own New York-based contemporary dance company. She performed and choreographed Justin Bieber’s Life is Worth Living music video and worked on his Purpose tour too.

I am very happy for these lesbians.
