Every Little Helps, Your Majesty

Queen Elizabeth II has been awarded a Tesco gift card after her one of her horses, ‘Barber’s Shop’, emerged victorious in one of the events at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, which claims to be the UK’s largest horse show, offering international competition in a number of equestrian events.

The Queen seemed delighted with her prize, although she always struck me as more of a Waitrose person…

This year, the event is commemorating Her Majesty’s 90th birthday. As usual, the Queen will be fielding a number of entrants to the competition, and it seems she has an excellent record, her horses having clocked up over 1,600 competitive victories as of 2013.

Unfortunately, the event was marred by bad weather, with Wednesday’s show being cancelled, which marks the first time a day has been cancelled in the event’s 66-year history.  Some people from the south like to bemoan how “it’s grim up north”, yet clearly they aren’t talking about the weather; we’ve had all the sun this past week!

Looks like she made the most of it!
