F1 champion driver Lewis Hamilton will be in the newest Call of Duty as he revealed on Twitter this week.

Given the image he shared, it’s expected he’ll be some kind of pilot or engineer – he hasn’t exactly said what role he would be in the game. In an interview, Hamilton said he was a huge fan of games, that he had “[grown up] with Super Mario, where the graphics were outdated at the time.”

“It’s crazy to see how far [computer games have come] – the realisation is unbelievable.”

Talking about his experience with the game and the team behind it, he called it a “great experience” and was “incredibly honoured to be part of this game. I’ve been a fan for years.”

Hamilton is one of the few high profile faces to join the cast of the game. Last month it was announced that Conor McGregor, UFC champion would be in the game, along with Game of Thrones star Kit Harington. Except this time, he plays a bad guy. And a scary one at that.

Will a star-studded cast be what it takes to save the franchise?

Who knows?
