The game is off to a strong start, after being well received by critics and players.

Injustice 2 has managed to beat out Sony’s newest VR shooter Farpoint, which comes in at No.2 this week. The DC beat-em-up is the first of its kind to reach No.1 since Mortal Kombat X, according to the sales monitor Chart Track. Farpoint is the highest-ranking VR game ever in the UK also.

Farpoint is available on the PSVR, and is its most successful game yet.

GTAV has slipped down to No.3, but is still sitting pretty, considering it came out in 2013. Bethesda’s Bioshock-esque sci-fi shooter Prey falls to No.4, from first last week.

Reviews for Injustice 2 called it “a fighting game that can be enjoyed by new players and pros alike”, and said that “faster, deeper action and a wealth of content make this DC heroes fighting game feel super.”

IGN and Gamespot gave the game a 9/10, and many other outlets have given the same.

It’s good to see a fighting game back on top.

Even if it is just for scrub-boxes.

Here’s the UK games chart for this week!

  1. Injustice 2
  2. Farpoint
  3. Grand Theft Auto V
  4. Prey
  5. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
  6. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  7. FIFA 17
  8. Ghost Recon: Wildlands
  9. Rocket League
  10. The Surge

Until next time!
