Katy Perry V Nuns

No, that is not a title I thought I would ever write.

Ever.

From kissing girls and liking it, to purchasing a convent, Katy Perry certainly has her hands full.

The E.T. singer has been caught in a legal battle with two nuns who used to live in the building she is trying to purchase. Sister Catherine Rose Holzman said: “It would be a sin to sell to her.”

Honestly, we can kind of see why.

The singer has just won the most recent battle, as a US judge voided a deal to sell it to a restaurant owner. Katy wants the convent so badly that she even sang to the nuns in an attempt to persuade them.

I can’t imagine the lyrics to ‘I Kissed a Girl’ or ‘Last Friday Night’ would appeal to the sisters. Or her singing.

One of the nuns, Sister Rita, said she “found Katy Perry and I found her videos and… if it’s all right to say, I wasn’t happy with any of it.”

Sister Catherine Rose Holzman told Billboard: “Katy Perry represents everything we don’t believe in.” Particularly in reference to a comment she made as to how she became successful by ‘selling her soul to the devil’.

The nuns had originally agreed to sell the space to restaurant owner Dana Hollister, but LA judge Stephanie Bowick has overruled that.

The local archbishop disagrees with the nuns however (the plot thickens), as he said that the sisters never actually had the power to sell it to Hollister in the first place.

The fight may not be over for the nuns however, as their lawyer, John Scholnick, told the Los Angeles Times he’s considering an appeal and believes it’s “still game on.”

The convent used to hold more than 100 nuns, and was called the California Institute of the Sisters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

We’re sure this’ll be a battle for the ages… or at least the next week or so.
