Slim pickings this month. Yes, another month begins, so here we have the most notable releases for October 2017.

Blade Runner 2049 – Directed by Denis Villeneuve, this sequel to the 1982 cult classic Blade Runner stars Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling, as they uncover a long-buried secret, that could plunge what little humanity has left into chaos. Officer K gets pulled into a long-awaited adventure, as he tracks down Rick Deckard, who went into hiding after the first film. Early reactions were positive, so this is a definite must watch for any fans of the original. Release date 6th October.

My Little Pony: The Movie – I pity every parent who takes their child to see this. Yes, the long-time running animated TV show managed to get its hooves into a film deal. It’ll likely be a light-hearted story with a few simple laughs scattered throughout. No matter what it does, it’ll still be better than The Emoji Movie. The release date is the same as Blade Runner.

The Foreigner – A restaurant owner from London’s Chinatown goes down a path of revenge and moral choices, after the justice system fails him, in the wake of his daughter’s death at the hands of a group of Irish terrorists. This will be Jackie Chan’s first big role for a while. He will star alongside Piers Brosnan. Looks pretty cool actually.

Jigsaw – As the name would suggest, this would be the newest reboot of the long dead Saw franchise, taking on the persona of a crime drama more than a horror. Bodies have been turning up all across a city. They all point to one killer, however, Jigsaw. But he’s been dead for years, hasn’t he? The release date is 27th October and will star Laura Vandervoort and Tobin Bell as Jigsaw himself.

And that’s about it really. As we said, slim pickings but those are the movies to watch out for.

Until next month, have a spooky Halloween! Seriously is no one else creeped out by My Little Pony.
