Come On Aileen

While hurricanes rage through the US, we Brits were also taken by storm (literally) this week. And yay her name was:
Storm Aileen.
This was the first ‘big’ storm the UK faced this season, hence the name. It looked big from the news, however, when it came down to it, I think we’re all going to be okay.

Winds were up to 74mph, causing some disruptions to roads and rail routes, leaving thousands without power overnight. It was centred around the southern parts of England, with the north Midlands also being affected.

The North East was battered with strong winds and a lot of rainfall. That’s why it was so miserable yesterday and this morning. The storm has moved on however and is predicted to move over the Netherlands.
Winds and rain should have died down by now.
I need a brew.
