Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust have set a new trend to raise awareness for cervical cancer. The charity have launched the #SmearForSmear campaign where women take a selfie with lip-stick smeared across their faces. Supermodel Georgia May Jagger, is one of the first celebrities to take the selfie in her stride whilst nominating her model friends, Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse.

With it being Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the aim of the selfies is to raise awareness of the disease among young women. The UK charity have admitted that more than one million women failed to attend smear tests in 2014. Within the last ten years, cases of the disease in 25 to 29 year olds have raised by 59.2 percent. Eight women in the UK are diagnosed each day with cervical cancer and it is the most common form of cancer in under 35’s, but it is one of the few cancers that can be prevented.

What are you waiting for? Get your lippy on and start smearing!
