How to Avoid the Iron

In amongst lectures, homework and parties there is barely enough time to cook a nutritious meal let alone waste an extra thirty minutes a week ironing. Besides, I don’t think I’ve ever looked at somebody and thought, “Omg, how creased is that shirt?”. However, some occasions call for un-creased clothes so here are some simple life hacks to help you never have to iron again.
1- Hang clothes up immediately after washing them – it can be tempting to leave your freshly washed clothes dumped in your wardrobe for a few hours but if you hang as soon as you’re back in your room, they’re much less likely to end up all crinkly.
2- Use the permanent-press mode on the dryer.
3- Don’t over-dry clothes try – halving loads of washing if you have a lot of clothes to dry.
4- Hang your clothes in your bathroom while showering – the steam will make the creases fall out.
5- Put clothes under your mattress – if you place them flat enough, the next morning your clothes should be nice and wrinkle-free.
6- Stretch clothes over a chair overnight – this only really works with T-shirts.
7- Fold your clothes as soon as you take them out of the dryer – this works best if your halls aren’t far from the laundry rooms so you can just carry a stack of folded clothes instead of a bag full of scrunched up clothes.
