Among the vast wealth of gifts on sale this holiday season, for a nerd, geek, or introvert, it’s a chance to ask for the useless yet awesome stuff they wouldn’t otherwise buy. So, let’s have a look at some of the coolest and most downright ridiculous presents you can get a nerd this Christmas.

– Anything by Play Arts – When it comes to our favourite games or IPs, there are few ways to express that love. One of which is expensive plastic figures. Collectors everywhere clamour for these expensive toys. But look at the detail, though. From Batman to Boba Fett, these figures are the true way to any collector’s heart.

IP Merch – Literally every game, every film, and every book even, has some form of marketing campaign for merchandise. Whether it be ludicrously expensive statues, t-shirts, or even fridge magnets, these items, while some may prove useful, are basically just there for cool factor. *Hint hint*.

Art Books – Again, for most new films or games, there is normally an art book released alongside it. A collection of concept art, early designs and many other things that the artists behind the game or film would have worked on. Some of them are actually really interesting. They show the development of a character, and how they become the finished product. Just don’t look at the Suicide Squad ones. Because they’re just weird.

So, if you have upward of £200 to spend on a friend or a loved one this year, why not get them a figure they’ll place on a shelf and dust every week or so?

It’s not a waste of money.

Really.
