Word on the street is that Victoria is not the only member of the Beckham family who will be taking the plunge into the highly competitive beauty industry.

Shortly after his wife announced the official plans for her collaboration with cosmetics giant Estee Lauder, David Beckham has revealed that he himself will be launching a skincare range. The world-famous retired football player has revealed that he will become the first global ambassador of skincare brand Biotherm Homme (owned by massive cosmetics company L’Oreal) in a partnership that is set to last a number of years. The first campaign is planned to be released in June to advertise Biotherm’s N°1 moisturizer Aquapower, but the British athlete’s own collaborative range will launch in 2017.

After numerous campaigns with brands such as H&M, Belstaff and Adidas, Beckham is reported to be collaborating with Biotherm on a men’s skincare and grooming range for the first time, with an 8-12 piece collection that will retail for around £30 and will be aimed at male customers aged between 25 and 30. It appears that the football star had been considering taking the plunge into the beauty industry for quite some time now, as he said: “I’ve been thinking about developing a skin-care range for a long time and it wasn’t until I started speaking with Biotherm that it all came together.

Biotherm also seem over the moon with the new multi-year partnership with the highly influential sports star; general manager David Fridlevski commented: “It’s the first time a male celebrity of this stature has developed a skin-care collection.”
