Since Taylor released ‘Shake it Off’, it has been one of the most streamed tracks on Spotify in the UK but now all songs and albums from the 24 year old have been ‘swiftly’ removed. A spokesperson for the music-streaming service said they are hoping that the ‘Love Story’ singer will change her mind and return to the site. The spokesman went on to say 16 million people have played her songs in the last 30 days and 19 million users have Taylor on their playlists.

Swift’s fifth studio album, 1989, was released last week, selling over 90,000 copies, making it the fastest selling album by a female artist this year. Although this album was not loaded to Spotify, there is now no trace of Taylor Swift songs or other albums anywhere on the site. As of now, there has been no response from the singers camp as to why or what encouraged such drastic action.

Please hand a tissue to the ‘Swifties’.
