You may remember we posted this article back in January about the discovery of four new elements that were to be added to the periodic table? Well at long last we have some names for the elements! Well… we have one name. Element 117 will now be officially known as tennessine with a symbol of ‘Ts’.

The other three elements are yet to be named but we should expect to have some information on them soon.

In total, only 15 tennessine atoms have ever been observed but that was enough for it to be included on the Periodic Table of Elements and be considered a real physical element.

Unfortunately, scientists are yet to find a way in which tennessine is useful to mankind, but despite this, everything is worth discovering even if it’s not beneficial at this present time. Who knows, maybe these elements will become vital to us in the future.
